Everyone remembers the crazy incident that happened back in, '97 I believe where that cult all comitted suicide when that commet arrived. I wanted to represent them differently than I have seen before, so I decided to use symbols or items related to the group rather than that Applewhite guy's crazy face.

Hey, Jeff! The colors in the last few posts are sublime. It's nice to see the colors flat and in service to the drawing. Your sketchbook pages (Rushmore, Spam, Baggage claim) are terrific. And those drawings in the books? Neat idea. I used to draw in almost every book I bought-- on the blank pages, or in the gaps at the ends of chapters-- I liked all my books to be illustrated. But I like what's happening when you're drawing on the text. Cool. I might start defacing some of my old books like that. Why buy a sketchbook when I've got 650 "blank" pages in that old copy of "The Shining that's been on my shelf since 1977?

Thanks for stopping by. I haven't heard from you in a while so it's nice to see you. Thanks for your comments. I have been really trying to just draw more and let how I do colors be sort of secondary...like painting or watercolor or whatever, so I am using the computer for that and trying to let the drawing show through more as you mentioned.
drawing in old books is pretty fun too. If you get stuck and don't know what to draw, you can read and illustrate the page or use a word or use the words as texture, whatever. it's pretty fun. I am interested in seeing some of yours if you end up doing any.
