I am a big fan of Tom Waits work and the chance came for me to be able to use him as a subject for an assignment. I enjoy how innovative and unique his music is and I tried to capture some of that mystery in my drawing of him. I think I want to go back into it and put some more color in the background. That was one of the criticisms I've had so far and I think it is a good suggestion.

Say, Jeff, good work! Tom Waits is the Greatest of All TIme! I really like the line work in this and it's that quality that seems to be becoming a distinct style for you. The "Heaven's Gate," "UFO" and "Food/Mutant Cat" really show it off, too. Color in the background? Eh. I like the nominal use of color, it allows the line to carry the load.
